Seán Duignan introduces a report from Don McManus in Moneymore, Derry, where a meeting in support of Bernadette Devlin is disrupted by supporters of Ian Paisley.
Michael Farrell and Eamonn McCann both attempt to address the meeting. However, Bernadette Devlin had been advised not to speak at the rally due to the trouble and the threats to her well-being. The meeting is abandoned.
The rally took place on the eve of the by-election for the Mid Ulster seat at Westminster. Don McManus describes the scene as the supporters of Paisley disrupt the rally and the violence that ensues.
