The blame for the current overcrowding of hospitals is put on the Department of Health.

Report shows interview with Mr Finbar Fitzpatrick, Secretary General of the Irish Hospital Consultants Association, who blames the present hospital overcrowding crisis on bad planning by the Department of Health. He goes on to say the situation could be resolved by allocating more resources to Health Boards and giving CEO's more freedom from restrictive budgets.
