Minister for Communications Albert Reynolds opened the Computex 1980 exhibition at the RDS yesterday evening. Addressing heads of technology companies in his opening speech, he reminded them that real value lies in,
Worthwhile products that would be of use to the whole community.
Computex '80 showcases computer systems of many kinds; with an increasing number produced in Ireland.
A look ahead to the office of the future demonstrated data processing and how computers can be used for all types of administrative task and even architectural design.
There may also in the future be many practial uses in the home for this new technology.
