Enjoyment, inspiration and appreciation at the wide range of events offered by Culture Night across the nation.
Venues in cities and towns across the country are hosting events and live performances for Culture Night. Culture Night began as a small event in Temple Bar in Dublin. This year there over a thousand events around Ireland to enjoy.
In Cork Lisa Hannigan played a secret gig, there was painting for children at the Crawford Gallery and the English Market staye dopen late. An urban horse exhibition developed with input from children and youth groups was one of over 70 events in Limerick. Among the things to do in Galway was an origami workshop.
In Merrion Square Dublin the Arts Council hosted a mini festival of music, dance and readings.
Writer Kevin Barry is enjoying the night saying it is nice to get out and meet people and readers.
You are indoors a lot you know when you are writing books. It is yourself and the four walls. So it is great to see people and talk to readers.
