A political association has set out to challenge groups and ideas it believes are destroying traditional Irish culture.
The National Movement was founded in Limerick in 1968 by John Buckley. He says the establishment of the National Movement came about as a reponse to the loss of values in establisehd by generations of Irish society.
Us, as young people, felt that Ireland was losing a lot of the values which it had either inherited or had built up over the generations.
The objectives of the movement were to promote policies and ideas to influence political parties, pressure groups and the church to take a stand against the prevailing evils which they believed were destroying Irish culture. He defines these evils as 'the conspiracy' and includes all shades of leftist and liberal opinion. It includes a conspiracy which runs through the capitalist and communist systems, as well as the Freemason cult to create a one world system.
