A theatre production in Connemara offers a live entertainment experience safely during the pandemic.

Theatre with a difference, in a car park at night, as residents in south Connemara were treated to an outdoor performance with a difference. The event at Baile na hAbhann is a Fíbín theatre company production of Philip Doherty's 'Fiach', a blistering tale of love and passion. The drive-in drama is the first of its kind in the Irish Language.

It is Ireland's first drive-in drama 'as Gaeilge'.

Darach Ó Tuairisig, founder of Fíbín, says that the screening came about in order to support artists during COVID-19 and the associated social distancing restrictions. Fibín and Taibhdhearc Theatre came up with a drive in multimedia production as the safest way to engage with an audience and employ people in the creative sector..

The project is funded by the Arts Council and supported by Foras Na Gaeilge and Ealaín Na Gaeltachta.
