The Clonmel Horse Show and Agricultural Society centenary celebrations.
The Clonmel Show which took place on 12 and 13 July has been a fixture in the calendar for one hundred years.
Showjumping competitions and agricultural exhibitions take centre stage, and there was much interest in Foxhound displays and a careers event hosted by Clonmel Junior Chamber.
High inflation has added to the financial pressure to on a show like this. Chairman of Clonmel Horse Show Sydney Watson is confident that the show has a future. He acknowledges the need for local financial support and sponsorship and for the younger generation to take an interest in the show.
Increased running costs will put pressure on smaller horse and agricutltural shows around the country, but he believes Clonmel strikes a good balance, as it,
