Over one hundred drawings, sketches and pictures created by celebrities are auctioned for charity.

The auction of over 100 celebrity doodles was the brainchild of transition year students from St Andrew's College in Dublin to raise funds for a hospital in Uganda.

These doodles are worth serious money.

Student Daryl Bolger outlines how the auction came about. A teacher who has lived in Uganda wanted to raise money to support a hospital in the region. Another student, Nicola Sharpe, says they contacted celebrities asking them to create doodles in aid of the Uganda project. The students will travel to Uganda to donate the money in person. Student Olwyn Goulding says the money raised will be presented to people in Kasiisi. They will also visit an orphanage in Jinja and present the children with gifts. Stuart Garrett says the trip will be entirely funded by the students. None of the money raised from the auction will be used to pay for the trip.

The auction raised a total of €19,000. The top earner was a poem written by Seamus Heaney which raised €1,500. A doodle by Bono went for €450 and Bertie Ahern's sold for €200. A very professional doodle by artist Graham Knuttel sold for €1,100.
