Magee the Donegal clothing company is in London to show the international fashion press new designs.

After 120 years in business, Magee, a household name in Ireland, is now becoming an international fashion force to be reckoned with.

The launch of Magee's latest spring-summer collection is in London at the prestigious Institute of Directors on Pall Mall. The event was attended by journalists from all over Europe. A spokesman for Magee describes London as a logical springboard for the European market. This collection includes traditional tweed alongside imported fabrics. Models show the latest in both traditional and contemporary designs for casual and formal wear.

This year, Magee are placing a lot of emphasis on the jacket, making it the focal point of the progressive nineties man's wardrobe.

The fashion show included the Magee sponsored a Student Styling Competition showing contemporary up and coming designers. Stylists from some of the leading men's magazines also got to show their interpretations of the traditional pin-striped suit.

After the fashion show, over lunch, fashion writers gave their reaction to the latest Magee collection.

Another was surprised to see a suit manufacturer having a fashion show in London and receiving such a positive reaction.
