The Irish Blood Transfusion Service in Ireland celebrates 25 years managing blood supply.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service, the President of Ireland Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh arrived at Pelican House to donate a pint of blood.

Also pictured are Dr Jack O'Riordan, Director of the Blood Transfusion Service and Mr Thomas Murray, Chairman of the Board.

During its 25 years in operation, the service has gone from securing 200 donations per week to 2,000 donations, providing a vital medical service.
