Large crowds enjoy the sunshine and the marching bands at the start of Civic Week in Limerick.
Thousands of people lined the streets of Limerick to mark the beginning of Civic Week with the International Band Competition.
Eight hundred musicians from twenty one bands along with dancers and cheerleaders took part in a parade down O'Connell Street. The bands came from all over Ireland, England, Holland and the United States.


The parade was reviewed by Alderman Patrick Kennedy, Mayor of Limerick, Minister for the Gaeltacht Tom O'Donnell TD, and a host of other dignitaries.
