The designers of the An Post Love Stamps share how they came up with the ideas for their creations.

Postal workers distributing love letters are at the centre the 26 pence stamp designed by Aislinn Adams.

The 30p stamp is by Patricia Sleeman who used the word Love in her design, written in lipstick in a heart shape.

Keep it simple Aislinn Adams advises anyone thinking of designing a stamp. You need to bear in mind the scale of the finished product.

A student of textile design at Galway Regional Technical College, Patricia Sleeman collected stamps in her younger days and says this has influenced her approach to stamp design. Her advice for artists is to avoid intricate designs because they will not be seen.
