Mass movement as people travel home on Christmas Eve while others complete their shopping.
Train stations and airports have been busy bringing people home for Christmas.
An estimated 33,000 people have travelled through Heuston Station in Dublin over the last weekend with a further 8,000 expected today.
That's quite a task for CIÉ and everybody trying to get home for that happy Christmas.
It has also been busy at Dublin Airport with 40 flights scheduled for today accounting for 3,000 passengers.
Traders in Dublin city centre have been busy as people complete their Christmas shopping. There are bargains to be had on Moore Street with Christmas wreaths selling for as little as £1.50. Butcher shops are busy with good hen turkeys selling at 95 pence a pound. One butcher explains,
It's very busy today. The people are all out. The weather is great. There's plenty of money stirring. Everybody's in a festival mood.
