The Republic of Ireland soccer squad vist the RTÉ television studios to study their opponents.

In preparation for the UEFA European Championship group qualifying the Republic of Ireland squad visit RTÉ to watch a screening of a match Ireland lost to the USSR two years ago. The hope is it will provide a useful reminder of how the Russians like to play.

Team manager John Giles looking ahead to the game says the Russian are a well organised, fit and strong side. John Giles wants his players to match that strength.

I think they're always well organised. A very strong, physical side.

John Giles believes the Republic of Ireland are well prepared to the face Russians and will announce the team tomorrow after the players have been informed.

The Republic of Ireland will face Russia at Dalymount Park on 30 October.
