A Defence Forces competition at Custume Barracks in Athlone tests the culinary skills of army cooks.
Teams of caterers from the Irish Defence Forces compete against each other in the annual fish cookery competition.
A case perhaps of too many cooks not spoiling the dish.
The competition was contested by ten teams from the army, the air corps and the naval service. This was the seventh year of the event organised by Bord Iascaigh Mhara.
The winners were cooks from the 12th Battalion in Clonmel, County Tipperary representing the Southern Command. The team included Cpl J Bowes, Pte J Stuart and Pte W Walsh. The Haulbowline Naval Service came in second place with the D Supply and Transport from the Curragh in third.
