Around the country venues, artists and performers are getting ready for Culture Night.
Culture Night in towns and cities all over Ireland will see hundreds of events take place to promote the arts and all are free to the public.
Traditional musicians will join well known button accordion player Mary Staunton in Galway. James Harold, Galway Arts Officer, says that there will be a fantastic range of performers and everyone is welcome.
Artists are putting the final touches to their exhibits at Cathedral Studios in The Liberties in Dublin. Lorraine Maye, of Dublin Culture Night, outlines some of the incredible events. The National Museum at Collins Barracks will see The Dead Zoo joined by live animals from Dublin Zoo for the first time. 'Voyage To The Stars' will show the magic of the universe using imagery from the Hubble Space Telescope at Meeting House Square in Temple Bar.
In Limerick, the Dagda Company will perform an evening of contemporary dance in John's Square. The Hunt Museum will stay open until 10.00 pm running short guided tours.
In Cork, a hop-on hop-off bus will provide free trips to venues taking part in Culture Night.
Friday night, if you're in the vicinity of Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Waterford, Wexford, Letterkenny, Tralee or here in Galway, you can go out and get yourself cultured for free.
