Thousands are in Stradbally for Electric Picnic a festival that promises something for everybody.

Now one of the highlights of the Irish festival calendar, the three day music and arts event is bigger than ever and a complete sellout. An attendance of 41,000 people are expected to see acts such as Hozier, Walking On Cars, and The Stripes.

International acts include The Pet Shop Boys, Simple Minds, Blondie and Bonnie Tyler. Along with the popular music acts, there is poetry, drama, comedy, food and even some opera.

Lindsay Holmes, Electric Picnic, says there is something for every taste at the festival. Electric Picnic has also become known for its food offerings and this year is no different. There is a fine dining tent at the festival, and all proceeds go to the charity Console.

For those without a ticket, festival highlights are available on RTÉ 2FM, online and for the first time on RTÉ television. Justin Healy, RTÉ, says coverage will capture the atmosphere at what is the biggest music and arts festival in the country with performances and backstage interviews.
