Gráinne Cronin becomes the first woman pilot in Aer Lingus.

History was made at Dublin Airport yesterday when Gráinne Cronin received her pilot's licence for Aer Lingus.

The Ennis woman who previously worked as a flight attendant with the airline was one of 23 new pilots at the awards ceremony in Dublin Airport yesterday, and the only woman.

Flying is in her blood, as her father is Aer Lingus captain Felim Cronin, and her two sisters hold private pilot licences. Gráinne will fly as co-pilot on the Aer Lingus 737s.
