Craft industry and religious tourism part of proposal to create employment for Glendalough in Wicklow.
Glendalough is to become a centre of culture, education, religion and commerce and provide a hundred new jobs in the process.
Monastic City Trust member Tom Wallace outlines the plans for the Glendalough area which include setting up a medieval studies foundation, an arena for the performing arts, and the development of religious tourism and craft industries.
This is the second most visited place in Ireland.
Glendalough receives around a quarter of a million visitors each year. It is hoped that this will form the backbone of the market for the crafts industry in the region.
