A Good Friday pageant in Tullamore recreates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
In Tullamore, County Offaly a dramatic reenactment portrays the last hours of the life of Christ and the events leading up to his death on the cross following a trial before Pontius Pilate.
The part of Jesus was played by local man and carpenter Val Hughes. All proceeds raised at the pageant will go towards a fund towards the rebuilding of The Church of the Assumption in Tullamore. The church was burnt down in October 1983.

This is the third time that Tullamore has put on a pageant and the hope is that it will become a regular Easter event every five years.
The crucifixion was reenacted in the local GAA ground at O'Connor Park. Producer of the pageant Tom Joyce explains the realistic nature of the pageant.
There's no romance in this, this is the real thing and if that makes people sick to see, then I think they are doing the stations probably for the first time.
