Comic books, characters and costumes all part of a celebration of popular culture in Dublin.

This is the first time that MCM (Movie Comic Media) Comic Con has been held in Ireland. An exhibition dedicated to comic books, video games and science fiction attracted fans to the RDS.

You can be whoever you want whatever your age as long as you have the costume.

It is an event where fans can come together and celebrate their favourite characters, films, comic books and games, says Bryan Cooney of MCM Comic Con.

Everybody likes the same thing, so nobody’s strange.

Actor Warwick Davis is here to meet fans, and says the movie he has been asked most about in Ireland to date is,

Star Wars, as always.

With a wide variety of merchandise and comic books to suit every budget, comic cons are big business internationally.
