A new Garda squad will enforce traffic laws and monitor driving in the east of Ireland.
The dedicated 12 man Garda traffic squad will operate out of Gorey with members selected from various stations throughout the county. Their task is to patrol roads in counties Wexford and Wicklow.
Their job is to check on dangerous driving and on motorists exceeding the speed limit.
The dedicated unit is equipped with radar technology to help detect the speed of passing traffic. The white Garda cars of the traffic squad are already a familiar sight on the roads.
