A familiar figure on Times Square in New York the Naked Cowboy visits Ireland.

Robert Burck has gone from an anonymous busker to one of the biggest attractions in New York.

For the past decade, he has created a stir in Times Square strumming his guitar, dressed in a cowboy hat, boots and... that's pretty much it.

Robert Burck says the idea for the Naked Cowboy came when he was not getting the attention he wanted as a fully clothed performer.

I wanted to be the most celebrated entertainer of all time and that's what I'm going to be.

Before taking a pitch on Times Square, he had travelled the US for two years as the Naked Cowboy and was arrested 49 times gaining media attention along the way. He had also run up $45,000 in credit card debt. He knew that Times Square would offer him the opportunity he was looking for. A combination of tourists, video and media helped him along the way to success and notoriety.

Robert Burck now makes a living as the Naked Cowboy through licensing deals and corporate attachments. He also makes around $300 an hour in Times Square. The visit to Ireland is with Irish Entrepreneur magazine.
