Partygoers bring in the new year singing the traditional Scottish song 'Auld Lang Syne'.
On the stroke of midnight at a New Year's Eve party, revellers join together to sing the Scottish song of friendship and salutation ‘Auld Lang Syne’. They are accompanied by the keyboard player of a cabaret act.
In many English speaking countries 'Auld Lang Syne' is the traditional way of bidding farewell to the old year while looking forward to the year to come.
The words to ‘Auld Lang Syne’ are attributed to Robert Burns, the national poet of Scotland. It was written in 1788 and set to the tune of a traditional tune.
