An exhibition to promote the sale of Irish products in the lead up to Christmas opens in Dublin.

The National Development Association is encouraging people to buy Irish goods when Christmas shopping. It is estimated that at least £70 million will be spent in Ireland in the lead up to Christmas. Unless a significant proportion of this is spent on Irish goods, there may be a fall in employment in Irish industry resulting in less money in the country to be spent next year.

The exhibition is aimed at the housewife.

The target demographic of the exhibition is housewives and aims to educate housewives about the implications of their purchases.

The exhibition at the National Development Association offices on St Stephen's Green hopes to show that the purchase of Irish goods will help to protect existing jobs and create new ones.
