The urban boundary of Bray in County Wicklow is expanded.
A new urban boundary for Bray has been defined, adding 750 acres and a population of about 4,000 to the area.
The addition, previously controlled by Wicklow County Council includes,
Several new housing estates, a number of local authority and privately owned industrial estates and a large slice of undeveloped land.
A spokesperson for Wicklow County Council says it will be a while before the Bray Urban District Council (UDC) can take control of the full area.
As a result of the extension, the UDC budget is increased by £250,000 on 1978.
