A protest in Dublin shows solidarity with the campaign for civil rights in Northern Ireland.

The Dublin Civil Rights Movement organises a march to show solidarity with the Derry Branch. About 400 people congregate at Parnell Square and march to College Green for an address. The general line taken by the speakers is condemnation of the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) and criticism of British and Irish politicians for not supporting the Civil Rights Movement in Northern Ireland.

The march is reasonably peaceful until it reaches the British Embassy at Merrion Square East. There, some of the marchers clash with An Garda Síochána. A letter of protest about affairs in Northern Ireland is handed in to the Embassy.
