Irish delegation travels to Geneva but no date confirmed for League of Nations entry

75 arrested at celebration ceilidh for Frank Aiken in Dundalk

Seventy-five men were arrested at ceilidh in Dundalk organised to celebrate the election success of anti-treaty republican, Mr Frank Aiken, who topped the poll in the Louth constituency and was declared elected on the first count.

Fears for European peace as Mussolini’s Italy bombards and occupies Corfu

Fears about the future peace and stability of Europe are growing following a bombardment of the island of Corfu by Italian forces and the dismissal by Italy’s Prime Minister, Signor Benito Mussolini, of any role for the League of Nations in de-escalating the tensions.

Hundreds of thousands dead after Japanese earthquake

The Irish Free State Minister for Foreign Affairs has issued a message expressing ‘profound sympathy’ to the Government and people of Japan following a devastating earthquake on September 1st that has left as many as 500,000 casualties.
