A hollyhock plant in a Cork garden is over three metres high and still growing.

Hollyhock plants are known for being very tall, often growing to 2 metres in height. However a hollyhock in the garden of Kathleen Hurton in Ballinlough, Cork has surpassed all expectations. Currently measuring 3.4 metres, the huge hollyhock is now as tall as her house and is still growing.

The hollyhock is a low maintenance garden shrub. Kathleen Hurton waters her plant when necessary. In response, the enormous hollyhock is covered with large, delicate, deep red blooms.
