14,000 unemployed as a result of Dublin Port Strike

The numbers unemployed as a result of a strike at Dublin Port is now estimated to be 14,000. The figure would certainly be higher were it not for the actions of certain firms to charter vessels to enable them to continue their business.

London court sentences Dev’s 'alter ego’ to 2 years in prison

Mr. Art O’Brien, described variously as Mr. de Valera’s alter ego and the ‘presiding genius of the whole Republican movement’ in Britain, has been sentenced to two years imprisonment at the Old Bailey in London.

Cumann na mBan lead remembrance of Cathal Brugha on first anniversary of his death

Up to four hundred members of Cumann na mBan and the Women’s Defence League were involved in events organised to mark the first anniversary of the death of Cathal Brugha, who died on the 7th July 1922 from wounds sustained during the opening engagement of the Irish Civil War.
