The long running Irish Civil War seems to have come to an end.
An order to dump all arms has been issued by Mr. Frank Aiken, Chief of Staff, to his anti-treaty forces, accompanied by a general order from Mr. Eamon de Valera advised that ‘Further sacrifice of life would now be vain’.

British government seeks indemnity as Art O’Brien case leads to deportees return to England

A Bill to indemnify British Ministers and others against actions arising out of the decision to deport around one hundred people - men and women - to Ireland received its second reading in the House of Commons yesterday.

The President of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State government, Mr. William T. Cosgrave has said that his government wishes ‘to wipe out the memory of the last 12 months’ and forget the injuries that had been done to people.

United Irish League dissolved and replaced by Irish Democratic League

The United Irish League is to be wound down in Britain, but in its place a new organisation, the Irish Democratic League, has been established. Both decisions were taken at a Convention attended by two hundred delegates in Leeds today.
