A new radar scanner being installed at Dublin Airport will help control air traffic.
The new equipment is being installed by Messrs Phillips Electrical (Ireland) Ltd and is expected to be in operation by October 1963.
The radar will detect any aircraft flying with a radius of 120 nautical miles at heights up to 60,000 feet provided that the aircraft are within the line of sight of the radar aerial. The installation will provide additional safety for air traffic to and from Dublin Airport.
