A profile of one of the liveliest bookmakers on the course Terry Rogers.

Creative bookmaker Terry Rogers was one of the first bookmakers to offer doubles and forecasts to racegoers. He also ran a chain of betting shops in Dublin. Some of Ireland's leading businessmen pay tribute to Terry and his work including street trader and retailer Hector Grey, jockey Buster Parnell and his mother Rogers.

I think he's one of the greatest show men in this business and he's definitely added a terrible lot of life to racing. He's a mathematician second to none.

Terry has recently been appointed as Chairman of the Irish Boxing Board of Control and oversaw the promotion for the Muhammad Ali fight at Croke Park.

Terry finances some of his enterprises by making offers to buy the tickes of those who had drawn tickets in the Irish Sweepstakes. He takes a list of the names and makes them an offer by telephone hoping to do a deal before anyone else makes them an offer.

I'm down trying to take a list of people who have been successful in drawing tickets in this sweep.

Terry even has his trousers customised with hidden pockets to keep his cash safe.
