The Department of Education and Science is funding Irish language summer camps aimed at young people from disadvantaged urban areas.
Sport, music, drama, dancing and art through the medium of the Irish language are on the agenda for young people attending the Campaí Gaeilge between the ages of ten and thirteen years.
Based in schools situated in disadvantaged areas, the week-long summer camps aim to support children's spoken language skills as they move towards second level, while participating in fun activities,

The summer camps are part of an overall scheme funded by the Department which supports science and language learning in schools.
