Bargain hunters Mary McDonald from Maynooth and her sister queued outside Brown Thomas on Grafton Street from 8.00 am hoping to get a coat at a knock down price. They managed to save £50.

Consumers were enjoying the trade in boom town Dublin spending their hard earned pennies.

Following a very successful Christmas, major retailers are expecting the post-Christmas spending spree to reach record highs of £2 billion.

It's hard to believe where the money is coming from.
