People still have money after Christmas and are willing to spend it on goods in the sale at Winstons.
Gerry Quinn Manager at Dublin department store 'Winstons' tells RTÉ News that he has to reduce prices in order to get rid of excess stock which in turn benefits the customer.
The customer gets the advantage.
He refutes claims that goods offered on sale price are goods that would not be otherwise sold. Gerry Quinn claims that the shelves have to be emptied to make room for new stock. There are plenty of bargains to be had. He is not surprised by the number of shoppers looking for a bargain.
Every year, people seem to have more money after Christmas than they had before it.
