On 10 August 2001 the RTÉ Guide published a tribute to Joe Lynch in which he is described as

One of the most beloved entertainers this country has ever produced. To millions he was known simply as Dinny, but there was more to Joe Lynch than Glenroe's favourite greyhound trainer. Older fans will remember with great fondness his radio show Living with Lynch, and there were many offerings across the water including Never Mind The Quality... and, of course, Corrie. A great singer and raconteur, the Mallow man was always larger than life. He'll be missed.
