The horse fair brings people, dealing and money to Ballinasloe in County Galway.

For many years Ballinasloe has hosted a fair that is a week long devotion to pleasure and the horse.

The Ballinasloe horse fair continues to go from strength to strength with the number of visitors growing each year. On the fair green those in town to buy and sell horses talk about prices the haggling process. While prices may have changed over the years, the methods of dealing have not.

The fair brings more than just horses to Ballinasloe with politicians and fortune tellers making an appearnce. Tofts have been bringing fairground rides to Ballinasloe for over 100 years. Barbara Toft describes the week,
