RTÉ News visited Dublin Airport on 30 July 1974, the day Aer Lingus announced an operating profit of £1m. This was the airline's first profit in three years.The report shows an Aer Lingus plane landing, passengers descending and trucks unloading freight. Chief executive David Kennedy says that the industry is going through a difficult phase, with aviation fuel costs going up. But Aer Lingus is probably in a better position than other airlines and its prospects are quite good.
