Following a controversial decision by coach Warren Gatland to drop Brian O'Driscoll from the British and Irish Lions third and decisive test against Australia on Saturday, a look back to 2001 and O'Driscoll's first game for the Lions.

In 2001 Brian was selected for the British and Irish Lions Tour to Australia, appearing in all three tests. On 30 June 2001 Brian O’Driscoll played his first game for the Lions and scored his first try for the team. At the Gabba in Brisbane, the British and Irish Lions defeated Australia 13 - 29. O’Driscoll talks to Michael Corcoran about his delight with the success and the challenges ahead.
