The chef is on a mission to bring Irish families together through the power of mammy's cooking. We caught up with Catherine to find out her two absolute must-have items to travel with.
"Am I the quintessential Irish mammy? I bring Irish tea with me, I miss it!"
In this week's Tastes Like Home, Catherine is heading to Ennis Co. Clare to meet Katie and Tony Maher. Katie is the mother of four boys Michael 27; James 25; Peter 21 and Stephen 17. Micheal is living away from home, he was living in Germany for a number of years and in February he moved to live in Barcelona.
Katie’s family owned and ran a bakery in Ennis for a number of years so good food was always a feature of their lives. Her sons Michael is missing her home cooking so Catherine has stepped in to help!

In this episode, Katie teaches Catherine to cook their family favourite Chicken Fricassee, which is one of their ultimate comfort foods, and was eaten after a freezing cold rainy mucky cross country race. Katie says
"I love cooking family dinners; sharing this recipe with Catherine was great fun...being on camera was a little nerve wracking! Making connections through food is fantastic!"
