A woman in her 90s has died after her car was involved in two collisions in a busy shopping area in Athlone in Co Westmeath this afternoon.
Gardaí say it appears the motorist took ill while driving in the Irishtown area of the town.
Her car crashed into the front window of a shop before continuing on through a nearby roundabout and colliding with a tree.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
They want to hear from any road users who may have dash cam footage of the incident.
