Two men have been arrested after Gardaí recovered cannabis, MDMA and cocaine with a street value of €200,000 in a town in Co Longford this afternoon. 

The arrests were made after members of the Garda armed regional support unit searched a flat on the 1st floor of a building in the main street area of Ballymahon.

Two men in their early 30s fled the scene through an upstairs window. 

Cannabis worth €100,000, cocaine worth €70,000 and MDMA worth €30,000 were seized at the property.

The two men are now in custody and are being questioned at Longford Garda Station.

The arrests were made as part of investigations into the sale and supply of illegal drugs in Longford and Roscommon.
