A man in his 50s has been arrested as part of an investigation into the death of another man, also in his 50s, at Rosslare Europort this evening.

Gardaí believe the death may have been the result of a road rage incident.

Two lorries from separate companies were approaching Rosslare Eurosport at around 6pm when one lorry apparently cut in ahead of the other.

Both drivers pulled into the port to leave their trailers for collection.

Gardaí say it appears the drivers got out of their cabs and, during a row, one driver was hit on the head but made it back to his cab.

He was found dead in the lorry sometime later.

The man was from Romania but had been living in Ireland.

The cause of his death will not be known until a post mortem examination takes place.

The other man, from Co Wexford, had driven away and was subsequently arrested near New Ross, around 50kms from Rosslare Europort, on suspicion of assault causing harm.

The scene at the port has been preserved and a technical examination will take place tomorrow.
