A bicycle brand has issued a safety recall warning that some of its 2025 and 2026 models have a defect which could cause material damage, serious or even fatal injury.
Cube, a popular German brand, has said that customers should stop using the affected models "immediately and without exception" unitl the front fork on their bike can be checked for a defect which could cause it to fail "in the event of high breaking force".
The models affected are road bikes and Cube has said that a change to the resin content in the C:62 carbon fibre forks mean that there may not be enough resin in some forks.
The company said that this could cause "the outermost carbon layers to delaminate, causing cracks and significantly weakening the fork structure, through to a complete failure of the left fork blade".
Customers are advised to stop use of their Cube bike immediately and check the frame number on the Cube website to see if their bike is included in the recall.
They are also advised to contact their Cube dealer.
