A former Waterford basketball coach has appeared in court in relation to charges he is facing for alleged sexual and indecent assault of three boys in the 1980s.

Bill Kenneally, 67 and formerly of Summerville Avenue, Waterford, is charged with 99 counts against three complainants who are now in their 40s.

The matter, before Waterford Circuirt Court, was adjourned for a month.

The book of evidence had been served in March and the accused was sent forward for trial before the current sessions of the Circuit Criminal Court.

His solicitor asked if the case could go back to the next sessions.

There was no objection from the State to the adjournment.

The matter is due before Waterford Circuit Court again on 30 May.
