A former Waterford basketball coach has been sent forward for trial on 99 charges relating to alleged sexual and indecent assaults on three boys in the past.
Bill Kenneally, aged 67 and formerly of Summerville Avenue, Waterford city, is charged with committing the offences in Waterford more than 20 years ago.
The three complainants are now in their 40s.
Last month the book of evidence was served on the accused.
Waterford District Court heard that solicitor Matthew Byrne has been instructed to take on the case from Patrick Newell, who had been representing the accused.
Judge Kevin Staunton agreed to transfer the legal aid, and also allowed for a senior counsel and junior counsel to be appointed to the accused.
The judge sent Bill Kenneally forward for trial to the current sittings of Waterford Circuit Criminal Court.
