Research has shown that 93% of Irish people say they are washing their hands more frequently as a result of Covid-19 and 89% say they are using social distancing when queuing.
The Department of Health has been tracking public behaviour during the pandemic by means of a survey of public opinion.
The latest research shows that 93% of Irish people are washing their hands more frequently because of coronavirus with 92% saying they will continue to do this, and 89% are using social distancing while queuing, with 75% saying they will continue to do this afterwards.
Of those surveyed, 88% are using sanitiser. However the number of people who say they are staying home rather than going out has fallen from 92% in April to 63% yesterday.
Regarding wearing face coverings, 83% of people said they would definitely or probably be willing to wear a face mask or covering but only 34% said they were doing so.
A public information campaign on the wearing of face coverings is now under way.
There were no deaths from coronavirus reported in Ireland yesterday.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said the number of daily cases remains on a downward trend and the disease continues to be suppressed in the community.

The overall death toll in Ireland is 1,706.
Yesterday, the Department of Health said there were an additional 18 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, bringing the overall total number of cases to 25,321.
The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in hospital intensive care units is 24, and continues to reduce.
There are also six suspected cases in ICU beds awaiting test results.
According to the latest HSE Operational figures overnight, there are 71 confirmed Covid-19 patients and 170 suspected cases in hospitals around the country.
The hospitals with the most confirmed cases are all in Dublin - the Mater with 17, Tallaght University Hospital with and Beaumont, which has 10.
Overall, there are 116 ICU beds available in hospitals for patients and there are 618 vacant general beds.
The World Health Organization says data to date suggests 80% of Covid-19 infections are mild or asymptomatic, 15% are severe infection, requiring oxygen and 5% are critical, requiring ventilation.
Generally, you need to be 15 minutes or more in the vicinity of an infected person and within two metres of them, to be considered at-risk, or a close contact.
