From free musical theatre masterclasses, to a string quartet playing for frontline workers - here are five positive things right happening now:
1. Patients and staff at Tallaght University Hospital were treated to some live music courtesy of the Leinster String Quartet.
2. Dorothy Seagrave from Ashbourne, Co Meath, has been busy making face masks for frontline workers in the Oncology Unit in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. She has made over 80 masks for workers on the unit.
3. Limerick senior and u21 hurlers are doing their #HitTheWoah TikTok challenge to raise funds for the Milford Care Centre in Limerick.
4 The Irish Youth Musical Theatre is running a free musical theatre festival of masterclasses and workshops online this week. Featuring stars from Broadway and the West End, they are giving people the chance to broaden their theatrical horizons at home. The programme also involves raising funds for children's charity Barnardos.
5. A virtual final assembly at Belvedere College in Dublin was made extra special by the school’s choir. It performed a rendition of Josh Groban’s You Raise Me Up, with their voices coming together from their separate homes.They dedicated the performance to all essential workers.
