It's worth reminding ourselves of the brilliant ways people are managing to stay positive. Here are 5 uplifting stories that put a smile on our face:
1) Nine-year-old Robyn Prendergast, from Gorey in Co Wexford, made a lovely sign to thank all the healthcare workers in Ireland. The sign reads 'thank you healthcare workers'. Robyn said: "I made a sign for the healthcare workers so they know that kids care too. I think you're amazing."
2) Patrick Brennan, a schoolteacher from Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny, and Eoin Mulhern of Recharge Cartridges in Kilkenny town, are making face shields using a 3D printer and giving them to frontline staff for free.
3) 10-year-old Katie Cummins, from Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, wrote a poem about Covid-19, with some brilliant advice in it.
4) Pat Phelan, from SISU Aesthetic Clinic and GoCar, is offering 100 cars that are free to use for any front line healthcare workers in Ireland. The idea came after Pat saw a tweet from a nurse saying that her transport for a week would cost her over €100.
5) Seán O’Flaherty, 78, from Barna, Co Galway, is taking a break from cocooning to practice his GAA skills. Seán has trained teams at CLG Bhearna from 1978 up until 2007.
